Indian new generation

Indian new generation

India is home to the biggest youth population on earth:
600 million people are under the age of 25.
India's outpost of Standard Chartered Bank estimates that the subcontinent adds 3 million young earners between 20 and 24 year-old age group annually, a figure expected to more than double in the next few years.
Many young Indians work for multinational corporations and with the proliferation of the information technology jobs, a growing number are finding themselves with good salaries.
Their salaries and spending habits are booming along with the economy.
The spending habits of the country's young have even given rise to a new term: "Youngistan" a twist on Hindustan.
Their habits is changing, lots of them have studied abroad and usually they speak English with each other and like in the western culture, they like to spend more and more time in shopping malls, lounge bars, cafes, restaurants, clubs, discos etc.
The idea of fashion has undergone a change, the rock music scene in recent years is achieving a cult status (MTV India is the most popular music channel in India and has large impact on the Urban Youth) movies has been a growing presence of Indian English in dialogues and songs, Indian Institutes are becoming famous worldwide, amusement parks are spread and lots of sports are practised.
